Mr Soliz, founder and managing attorney, is an attorney with approximately 44 years of legal experience. He is a 1976 Graduate of Texas State University-San Marcos and a 1979 graduate of Harvard Law School. Joseph is an Adjunct Professor, teaching Introduction to Law, Business Law, Oil & Gas Law and other legal courses at Lone Star College – North Harris. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. Joseph is also licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance as an Escrow Officer in Texas. Too, he is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Joseph has continuously been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1979.
His practice areas include oil, gas & mineral law, real estate law, immigration, corporate, commercial, business and contract law; governmental relations, debtor/creditor issues; litigation and alternative dispute resolution; probate; and estate planning. In addition to his legal practice, Joseph serves as a member on the Board of Directors of and SER Ninos, Inc. d/b/a SER Ninos Charter School (www.serninos.org); an open enrollment charter school operating in the Gulfton Area of Houston, Texas. He also currently serves as a member of the Paralegal Program Advisory Committee of San Jacinto College.
Joseph also presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Coastal Water Authority and the Queensbury Theatre. He has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of CanCare, Inc., Energulf Resources, Inc., the Executive Service Corps of Houston, the Harris County Private Industry Council, the Houston Hispanic Forum, the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, and SER-Jobs for Progress of the Texas Gulf Coast, Inc. He has also served on the City of Houston’s Civil Service Commission, as well as the Strategic Planning Committee and the Shared Decision Making Committee of Houston I.S.D.’s The Rice School/La Escuela Rice. He is a graduate of the American Leadership Forum – Houston/Gulf (Class L), Leadership Houston (Class XVIII) and United Way of Greater Houston’s Project Blueprint (Class II).
